The British Sandwich & Food to Go Association has launched a dedicated insurance facility which offers tailored schemes and competitive rates for members.
The latest technical forum, hosted by Bradshaw, was a culmination of a lot of work that the Forum has seen and contributed to over the past few months.
The sandwich industry is a growing one and today contributes some £7.85bn to the UK economy - around £4.4bn in the food to go sector. The sandwich transcends food to go, of course, with catering, cafe, pub, hotel and other providers creating sandwiches for diners.

This set of guidelines for labelling sandwiches and food to go products under the new Food Information regulations has been published by the British Sandwich & Food to Go Association. (Correct as at 17/11/2021).
There has been much confusion in the sandwich industry over the question of when VAT is chargeable and when it is not, particularly in relation to those operating delivery rounds.
There are additional elements in relation to the salt pledge for the foodservice sector:
"We recognise that achieving the public health goal of consuming no more than 6g of salt per person per day will necessitate further action across the whole industry, Government, NGOs and individuals.
