So many chefs! So many incredible recipes! Seven delicious sponsor ingredients! Seven deserving winners!
As is always the case with the Sandwich & Food to Go Designer of the Year Competition, we were overwhelmed with eager competitors before we'd even launched.
We received hundreds of recipes and were lucky to be able to hold three of our four planned regional heats before lockdown took hold.
Thankfully competitors, judges and sponsors alike were all determined that we should carry on. So that's what we've done.
In the absence of a live final - and with the South East heat having been judged on paper - we will be naming a winner in the seven sponsored categories. Each will receive a prize of £500.
In each category a regional winner was put through to the final alongside a judges' Wild Card, selected as the best of the rest.
All of the recipes submitted delighted the judges. There was so much creativity on display that it was a thoroughly difficult task to choose the winners.
