About Bradgate Bakery

Bradgate Bakery is part of Samworth Brothers – a 4th generation family business with headquarters in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. Bradgate produces sandwiches, prepared salads and other chilled foods for Tesco from it’s two sites in Beaumont Leys, Leics.

Opened in June 1993, with just eleven recipes, the bakery now employs 1,600 people producing sandwiches twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Continuous investment in skills and facilities has enabled the business to grow into one of the UK's largest sandwich manufacturers with an enviable reputation for quality, consistency and innovation in a fast-moving market.

In 2014, Bradgate opened a new bakery at Ashton Green, 500m away from the original site to cater for growing demand and allowing expansion into other product categories. The business, operating across two sites, still maintains its family feel and prides itself on its strong and positive relationship with its staff - although it is Samworth Brothers' largest site, it has always maintained a friendly and family approach to doing business.

Bradgate Bakery is also a multiple winner of the BSA's Sandwich Manufacturer of the Year Award. During 23 years of strong growth, Bradgate has always been able to maintain the highest standards in the industry.
