Because the Association is concerned to uphold good standards in the industry, all retail members must have a Food Hygiene Rating (or equivalent) of at least three to join.

In the case of sandwich manufacturers, the Association undertakes an annual audit of each factory to ensure that they meet the minimum standards expected of members.

For suppliers, the Association accepts third party accreditations such as EFSIS or BRC.

As result of setting these minimum standards for membership, all full members can display the BSA logo with the assurance that it represents a genuine endorsement of their business.

As well as being able to use the logo on literature and in association with your products, all members receive an annual certificate of endorsement as well as a membership window sticker, all of which can help to set your business apart from competitors.

The Association also actively encourages buyers, whether trade or consumers, to support its members.
